Modeling of the hydrological behavior of some catchments in arid and semi–arid regions of Algeria

This research project focused on studying the hydrological behavior of selected watersheds located in arid and semi-arid regions of Algeria. The work aimed to better understand rainfall-runoff processes, water balance dynamics, and catchment response under the specific climatic and geomorphological constraints characteristic of these regions. The findings contribute to improved water resource management strategies in water-scarce environments, supporting applications in flood risk assessment, water availability planning, and sustainable catchment management. Mapping and management of water–related risk areas in the watersheds of the center of northern Algeria

This project focused on identifying, mapping, and managing water-related risk areas. The work combined Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing techniques for spatial analysis and risk-zone identification, hydraulic modeling to simulate flow behavior and flood dynamics, and dedicated flood mapping software to delineate risk-prone areas. Field surveys were conducted to validate model outputs and ground-truth the mapped risk zones.
