Composite materials based on organic polymers reinforced by clay nanosheets experience an exceptionally significant expansion due to their characteristics and performance which are continuously in improvement from a day to another. These materials have the ability to be used in various industrial applications. In this context, and as part of a development of natural resources in our region, local clay is treated in different ways and then incorporated, with specific percentages, in a polymer to obtain a polymer-clay matrix. The material obtained is then characterized by different analytical techniques (XRD, FTIR…) to check the nano-polymer/clay structure. Samples of this material are subjected to the moisture tests gain to get an idea of its diffusive behavior and durability in wet environments.
